10 Easy Frosting Recipes With Few Ingredients

Get some easy frosting recipes that you can prepare with a few ingredients. These recipes are very delicious and anyone can prepare them, even as a beginner.

Coffee Frosting

Ingredients:

  • 175g soft butter
  • 350g icing sugar
  • 4 level tsp instant coffee, dissolved in 1 tbsp. boiling water

Preparation Instructions:

To make the icing, mix the butter and sugar together in a mixing bowl and beat together until smooth. Beat in the dissolved coffee

Chocolate Fudge Frosting

Ingredients:

  • 100g milk chocolate, chopped into small pieces
  • 200g slightly salted butter, softened
  • 400g icing sugar, sieved
  • 4 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp. milk

Preparation Instructions:

  1. Put the chocolate in a heatproof bowl, suspended over a pan of barely simmering water. Stir every now and then until melted. (Alternatively, melt in the microwave, stirring the chocolate every 20 secs so it doesn’t burn.)
  2. Remove the bowl from the heat and leave to cool a little. Meanwhile, put the butter and icing sugar in another large bowl and mash with a spatula to combine (this will prevent you covering the work surface in icing sugar), then whisk with a hand mixer until smooth.
  3. Sift in the cocoa and pour in the melted chocolate and milk, then mix again until smooth, and use to ice your chosen cake immediately. Will keep in the fridge for up to a week, but remove an hour before using to bring it back to room temperature, and beat well.

Royal Frosting Without Eggs

Ingredients:

  • 4lbs {two bags} confectioner’s sugar
  • 3/4 cup. meringue powder
  • 1 1/2 cup. warm water
  • 2-4 tbsp. Vanilla extract

Preparation Instructions:

Add the dry ingredients first. Use your mixer’s whisk attachment to incorporate the sugar and meringue powder.

Add the extract to the water and slowly add it to the dry ingredients while mixing. At first the icing will be very liquid-like.

Continue to mix it at medium-high speed until it is fluffy and stiff peaks form, about 7-10 minutes. Mixing times are approximate, keep your eye it icing and stop mixing as soon as it becomes stiff. Over mixing and oil-containing extracts can keep the icing from setting up, so keep this in mind as you work.

Vanilla Icing

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup or 100 g butter, at room temperature
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon any flavoring

Preparation Instructions:

In a bowl, using an electric hand mixer or standing mixer, beat the butter until light and smooth. Beat in the powdered sugar, milk and flavoring until smooth and creamy.

Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams unsalted butter, softened
  • 100 grams cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation Instructions:

In a large bowl, beat together the butter and cream cheese with an electric mixer. With the mixer on low speed, add the powdered sugar a cup at a time until smooth and creamy. Beat in the vanilla extract.

Chocolate Frosting

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder sifted
  • 5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon flavoring of your choice i love using peppermint essence for chocolate frosting
  • 4 tablespoons water

Preparation Instructions:

Whip butter and cocoa together until smooth in large bowl. Stir in vanilla and powdered sugar. Slowly stream in milk until frosting reaches desired consistency. Whip until light, fluffy and smooth.

Caramel Frosting

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2-1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation Instructions:

In a small saucepan over medium heat, add milk, butter and brown sugar. Whisk together and bring to a boil.
Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla.

Pour it over cake or cupcakes immediately.

Guilt Free Frosting

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups no sugar icing powder
  • 100g butter softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Chocolate Frosting

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1-2 tbsp. healthy milk
  • Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients:

  • 225g cream cheese softened
  • 1-2 tbsp. Healthy milk

Preparation Instructions:

In a large mixing bowl, beat your powdered icing sugar remember sugar free and butter until combined, and smooth. Add in your vanilla extract.
Add your flavor ingredients and continue beating until the desired texture.

Royal Icing

Ingredients:

  • 3 whites egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups icing sugar

Preparation Instructions:

In large bowl of stand mixer combine the egg whites and vanilla and beat until stiff peaks have formed. Add confectioners' sugar gradually and mix on low speed until sugar is incorporated and mixture is shiny. Turn speed up to high and beat until mixture forms stiff, glossy peaks. This should take approximately 5 to 7 minutes. Add food coloring, if desired. Transfer icing to pastry bag and frost your cakes, cupcakes, cookies or wedding cake boarder.

Poured Fondant For Dripping And Petite Cakes

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup (light)

Preparation Instructions:

Place confectioners' sugar, water, and corn syrup in a small saucepan and stir until well mixed. Set over low heat and stir until dissolved. Don't let the temperature exceed 100 degrees on a candy thermometer. If glaze doesn't look opaque enough, add more powdered sugar.

Pour warm fondant over item to be glazed, No hot fondant.
